Staff Basketball Game

SO MUCH FUN.  For so many reasons too.

First and foremost, our amazing teachers, administrators and staff.  Secondly, to the under-appreciated coordinators… and not just the HC’s.  They organize it all and make sure it goes off without a hitch, but seldom get to stand on the court to accept their due applause.  Third on my list are the Alumni who came back on late notice to resurrect an old/lost tradition of alumni playing against current contestants.

I’ll miss some of the names so shame on me, but I’ll try to summarize as best I can. Continue Reading »

Mr. Wolverine 2011

It’s time again everyone :)

Interviews for the Mr. Wolverine Pageant at Willamette High School will be here in a matter of weeks (the first full week in December).  With that in mind we’ve produced a little video with instructions for an 8-count of dance that we’d like the gentlemen–whom are trying-out–to learn so that they can demonstrate their skills for us.

We’re cheesy and we know it!  But that’s how Formers (former Mr. Wolverine participants) roll.

Remember this page because we will be using this site as a hub for fund raising dates, practice updates, contestant/coordinator highlights, and really just any pertinent information that students, parents, advisers or administrators may need.

Willamette High School 2010

For those that didn’t know, Principal Jamieson retired at the end of the 2009-2010 school year.  The senior class officers asked us to help them with a little tribute in his honor.

Big ups to the Big Fella for holding it down on the video editing when we had 4 different cameras recording at different rates in different formats. …hey, if it were easy, we wouldn’t ask him to do it.

Film making

There are some things that I’ve learnt about film making in my three decades on 3rd Rock.

1. I hate pretentious film makers almost as much as I hate brainless ones… I want to watch movies that are well thought out and a little more than explosions and boobs.

2. Enjoy movies that are pretentious and brainless, because some movies are just made to be fun, and not thought of.

3. No matter what you do, someone will think you’re pretentious, and someone will think you’re brainless; it’s unavoidable, so cut everyone else some slack.
